Meet
Aris Angelis

Aris Angelis is a health policy and health systems expert working across institutional reform, European health policy, strategy and implementation. His work bridges evidence, policy and institutional leadership, translating complex policy challenges into practical and sustainable reform.

Following his tenure as Secretary General for Strategic Planning at the Hellenic Ministry of Health, he currently serves as Chair of the Greek Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Committee and also Advisor to the Minister of Health, supporting the implementation of strategic health reforms and the modernisation of health system governance. He is also a member of the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency.

Alongside his national responsibilities, he contributes to European and international health policy through leadership and expert roles with institutions including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the World Health Organization and the European Commission. His work focuses on strengthening health systems, advancing access to innovation and supporting evidence-informed decision-making across Europe.

Aris Angelis has built his professional career across academia, government and international institutions, with a consistent focus on health systems, public policy and evidence-informed decision-making.

His academic and research training was shaped at the London School of Economics (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), where he worked at the intersection of health policy, health economics and health system evaluation. This academic and research experience established the analytical foundation that continues to underpin his approach to policy and institutional reform.

His distinctive perspective combines academic excellence, executive public sector leadership and hands-on implementation experience—bridging evidence, policy and institutional delivery.
